Welcome to my homepage. I am a Postdoctoral Research Economist at the London School of Economics, at the Centre for Economic Performance. I am where I am part of a programme of research on Urbanisation in AfricaI received my DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2015, where I am a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of African Economies.

My research interests include Development, Labour, and Urban Economics. Firstly, I look at the impacts of large social transfers (such as housing projects, unemployment assistance, and other social grants) on recipients of these programs, the distribution of income and opportunity, and on labour markets in large cities. Secondly, I am interested in the construction of urban infrastructure, such as roads and housing, and their impacts on the spatial distribution of economic activity and frictions in labour markets. Finally, I work on the functioning of labour markets in cities, and the experiences and incentives of unemployed young people while looking for work. My work uses labour, household and firm micro-data, and relies on field experiments to identify causal relationships between policies and individual outcomes.
